What an unusually hot and humid July is coming to an end this week. It saddens us to see how many people in France and Spain have had to cope with the massive wildfires, and are still doing so. If you can help by making a donation, please do so. Some of these people have lost everything.

If you see a fire breaking out here in Spain, report it by calling the emergency services on 112 and state where you can see smoke and the best way to reach the location.

Due to the continuing high risk of fire, access to towns in the Tramuntana mountain range will be severely restricted around the time of the upcoming solar eclipse on 12 August.

Colourful boats on the sea

On July, 16th many towns with harbours here in Mallorca celebrate the patron saint of seafaring and fishing: Mare de Déu del Carme. In our little fishing village of Cala Figuera, which is part of Santanyí, the boats were also decked out and sailed several laps.

News Tapas: Upcoming events in German

• New live-stream series »Experienced. Authentic. Solopreneur.« hosted by Rayaworx host Doris Schuppe is launching. Every month, a female solopreneur joins Doris in her live studio to talk about the journey as a self-employed person. Premiere guest will be Beate Mader on July 30th • 4.15 pm. You may watch / interact on LinkedIn or Youtube.
• WNM • Digital Evening with DoSchu • July also brought a major change for the Women’s Network Mallorca (WNM): after a long search, Carmen found a venue in Ses Salines to serve as the association’s headquarters: Movida, Calle Sitjar 17, a meeting place for interested women and a space for the WNM community to come together since July. For yoga, fashion, workshops … and in August, Doris will be hosting an event as a digital mentor.

Summer Holidays in August

We’re taking some time off! Rayaworx Coworking will be closed during the two middle weeks of August. Our consultancy firm, COWOXU Mallorca, will also be taking a break. Alternatively, you’re welcome to get in touch with Cisca at Sa Multidisciplinar in Felanitx or María at Redols in Campos – they’ll be happy to help and are open as usual.
